There are more than ten million small enterprises in China. How to improve market competency in the information age is the concern of all businesses. Based on analyzing the present situation in China, this paper discusses several problems that should be given attention when starting an e-business as a small enterprise in China. It not only describes step-by-step the way to build a tentative e-business application but also gives an introduction to how to gradually extend the application in depth. Finally, this paper proposes a low cost and easy to deploy security solution that is based on a digital certificate at the appropriate security level.
