摘要

Passive energy dissipation devices are applied to structure retrofitting and performance design of reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures damaged in the Wenchuan earthquake,China,on the basis of the characteristics of earthquake damage to the RC frame structures.First,preliminary evaluation of the existing RC frame structures is made to determine the ultimate performance target that a building has to reach.The types,quantities and positions of passive energy dissipation devices are then determined by nonlinear static analysis (pushover).Finally,the questions found in the analysis are summarized and some countermeasures are proposed for reference in design.It is concluded that the passive energy dissipation devices can be widely used in seismic retrofitting,and has a broad application prospect.
