The reason for complexity of modern robotic cells is not difficult to gauge. Parts manufactured in automated production lines using CNC machines have intricate shapes and the variety of parts is large. This is also the case with castings, which may have very complex profiles. Programming the robot for deburring these intricate profiles with a constant deburring force using optimum speeds is a difficult task. Versatile but costly and complex robotic deburring cells are now capable of performing deburring tasks for a large range of product mix. Research is still continuing, to make the deburring cells more adaptable and intelligent. Concept presented here aims to simplify the deburring setup to minimum essential components and do value addition to such a setup by obtaining feedback from it in terms of profile and deburring parameters.
