A solution about the twin-mounted coupling of 6-barrel Gatling weapons is put forward and studied with dynamic method. The Gatling weapons in this paper adopt a new type of internally powered driving technology, which utilizes a part of high-pressure powder gas conducted from bore to produce thrust by the high-speed ejection through the Laval nozzles fixed on the side of barrel assemblies, so as to rotate the barrel assemblies and drive Gatling weapons to circulate automatic shooting. The dynamic model of twin-mounted coupling solution has been established and simulated both for single Gatling weapon and double Gatling weapons. The calculating results show that the double Gatling weapons adopting this type of twin-mounted coupling solution can effectively reduce their recoil force, and keep the angular rates of internally powered driving weapons steadier, and thereby improve the overall performances of twin-mounted Gatling weapons. The dynamic model established can also be used to analyze the influence of each structural parameter to the performances of Gatling weapons so as to direct their further improvement design.
