摘要

A variational impact parameter approach, based on the Schwinger variational principle, is applied to the evaluation of the cross section for Balmer- α emission from hydrogen atoms excited by protons at intermediate energies. The results are presented in the interval from 10 to 200 Kev and compared to available experimental data and to other theoretical calculations.
