In order to analyze ice-induced vibrations of offshore structure, a repeated ice force model is developed to describe repeated breaking of sheet ice on narrow conical structures. The ice force model is expressed by 5 dimensionless parameters (size ratio). Among these parameters, there is only one basic parameter, length-thickness ratio of the broken ice piece. The determination of this parameter is analyzed in this paper. The calculations show that this model is fit well with model tests. A crack radius effect on breaking length and breaking force of ice is also discussed.
