摘要

This paper review the use of rubber and urcthanc in the forming of sheet metals into cups, both with a view to the achieving of greater depths of draw and also to the achieving of particular free-formed profiles. The use of robber and urethane is considered from two aspects: (ⅰ) acting in replacement of a female die over the central parts of: and (ⅱ) providing friction-actuated blankholding. Earlier work on the use of rubber and urethane reported in the literature is discussed. along with related work dealing with the use of liquid pressure to achieve similar ends.
