In this paper, starting from locating m cutting edges and n guide-pads, the general balance equations of the tool are established and the calculating formulas back action forces on the guide-pads are deduced; Starting from the view of stable balance, the tool's mechanical properties, the location law and the optimum position of the guide-pads are probed.
