Theoretical Investigation and Computer Simulation of the Dynamic Thrust and Torque in Vibration Drilling

摘要

A predictive model for vibration drilling dynamic thrust and torque is presented in this paper. The model is based on the oblique machining theory. The lips and chisel edge are treated as a number of vibration cutting elements respectively, each with dynamic characteristics. The model to predict dynamic thrust and torque in vibration drilling is developed by analyzing the cutting mechanics of the each element. The result of a computer simulation study has shown a very good agreement between the theoretical predictions and the existing experimental evidence.
