With the capability of performing CDF and LERF calculations, the TIRM-2 becomes a very helpful tool in monitoring the risk of different plant states and provides associated information directly for risk-informed applications. The calculation speed and the accuracy of results are significantly enhanced in the TIRM-2. Taiwan's NPP staffs and managers have recognized that the TIRM-2's associated techniques can precisely capture the plant risks and can serve as a better management resource. Currently, the TIRM-2 on power and on refueling outages have been released to all of the three operating NPPs for their usage. This powerful risk monitor, TIRM-2, has replaced TIRM to provide the basis of risk-informed applications since June of 2003.
