摘要

Electron diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy have been used to identify sub-micrometer phases in WC-Co nanostructured coatings and the nature of active particles in an iron-based catalyst dispersed in a porous fluorinated polymer. The use of numeric images and analysis of the data allowed to keep all along the study all the candidate phases and has shown that often diffraction patterns or diffractograms can be indexed by several phases within the experimental and literature data accuracies. Ambiguities can be resolved thanks to X-ray energy dispersive or electron energy loss spectrometries or via a statistical analysis of the crystallographic information.
