摘要

Most scientific terms with name of personames of persons are composed by adding a-postrophe and the letter "s" to the people name( s) in English. Their Chinese homo-logues are in the form of name + core word or numeral + core word. Most terms with place name, in English and in Chinese, are formed by putting the place name directly before the core word. However, there is a tendency to omit the "V in the terms with name of personames of persons. Thus it becomes difficult to distinguish the terms with people name(s) and those with place name. In order to avoid confusion "s" should not be understood.
