摘要

The objective of this study was to develop suitable models for estimating mean daily reference evapotranspiration for different months and different calendar weeks of a year for the locations viz., Annamalainagar and Coimbatore in Tamilnadu State, India. The most standard FAO Penman - Monteith combination method was adopted for estimating for estimating daily reference evapotranspiration from the daily measured meteorological parameters for a period of 16 years from 1977 to 1992. The first 14 years of the study period (1977 - 1990) were considered for developing the respective reference evapotranspiration models for Annamalainagar and Coimbatore. The last two years of the study period (1991 and 1992) were considered for validating the respective reference evapotranspiration models developed. The models developed would be of immense utility .in developing proper operational strategies for the management of irrigation schemes.
