Correct prediction of urban flooding has become a challenging issue. In present study, two-phase modeling technique has been applied to get a better representation of flood scenario of Tempaku-river basin, Nagoya, Japan. The hydrologic and hydraulic models have been built in RUNOFF and EXTRAN module of EPA-SWMM. The hydraulic model simulates both the underground sewer-network and overland street-network. The exchange of water between the two networks was controlled by virtual weirs set along the rim of manholes at ground level. Close agreements between simulated and observed values ensure that the two-phase modeling approach reproduces the flooding situation accurately, which rarely cart be obtained through a single-phase sewer-network simulation.
