Conceptually, industrial safety has been divided into two sections, occupational safety and process (or technical) safety, and may be regarded as a specialized area of management rather than part of management in a very general sense. Both sections have been successfully introduced into a subject, "Engineering Management 46631," at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) by the generation of a continuing series of case studies about a fictitious chemical manufacturer, ten cases per semester, as weekly assignments. There are now 110 cases in the series.
