As mining progressed through the Girilambone oxide orebodies, down to the primary sulphide zones, each successive stratiform layer yielded copper bearing ores of changing mineralogy and grade. Constant changes, innovations and optimisation were required to be applied to the heap leach, slovent extraction and electrowinning operations, to efficiently produce LME Grade A quality copper cathodes from this ore.
