The primary objective of designing, constructing, commissioning and operating a technically and economically viable processing plant cannot be achievedc without a rigorous scientific understanding of the chemical principles underlying every facet product. Having developed a thorough understanding of the chemistry involved, the next challenge is to match the innovative advances with the necessary engineering skills, In simple terms, there is little point in proposing a new processing route if it is not possible or practical to design. cosntruct, commission and operate it. Thus to achieve our objective, it is necessary that processing facilities that are both smarter and cheaper be developed.
