In this paper, it measured the flavonoids content of Tartary buckwheat ( Fagopyrum tartaricum) and of several wild buckwheats (including F. cymosum Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ, F. gracilipes, F. gracilipes var odontopterum, and F. urophyllum ). As to the buckwheats at the flowering stage, the flavonoids content in leaves was comparatively higher than in other parts of buckwheat, and that in Tartary buckwheat leaves was the highest one, reaching as high as 81.2 mg/g, followed by that in leaves of F. cymosun. The flavonoids content differed moderately in F. cymosum Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ, which were collected in different places. While in stems, the flavonoids content of F. gracilipes var odontopterum was comparatively higher, and in flower and mature grain, the flavonoids content of F. cymosum was comparatively higher. The distinction among the buckwheats analysed have provided the clues for the study of their evolutionary relationships and the utilization of their medical constituents.
