The paper talks about the technology and operations of advanced robotic sensors, their innovative applications to pipeline flow using ultrasonic instrumentations and pipeline inspection using non destructive methodology. The paper focuses on two important areas: the design and types of robots equipped with artificially intelligent sensors and these robots' potential industrial applications in pipeline fluid flow measurements and NDTI (non destructive testing & inspection) operations. Basic and fundamental concepts of robotic technology are explored. Such concepts are the use of artificial intelligence with transducer based sensors. These sensors serve as flow measurement devices to collect, process and change flow conditions to increase accuracy where fiscal measurement is concerned. This as well as using these artificially intelligent sensors to perform pipeline testing and inspection. In the course of this paper various types and designs of robots and/or robotic technology will be looked at, inclusive of all current day and futuristic types such as those for manufacturing, medical, production and every day home chores.
