A high-efficient production model of quality kenaf fiber with no pollution was developed in Zhejiang province of China. The production model included kenaf variety selection, production simplification, bast and core separation mechanization, and microorganism retting. The average yield of kenaf fiber was 3586.05 kg per hectare and the profit was 3040.35 Yuan per hectare in 2001. Kenaf fiber was used as the raw material for craft wallpaper. The production model and the diversified utilization have improved the kenaf production situation in Zhejiang, China.
