摘要

Several important issues in fabric performance evaluation have been addressed in the context of a new instrument. First, the classification of fabrics, given the vast complexity of fibrous sheets, a single index is proposed by which to group the materials into different categories, which is an indispensable step before any systematic methodology can be employed. Also, more careful examination and more detailed discussions are devoted to the influences of the fiber thermal conductivity on the tactile sense. Next, other important issues including the repeatability, resolution or sensitivity, the reproducibility and the applicability to wide range of products of the instrument are demonstrated and discussed. This article can be viewed as a continuation of the first one presented at INTC 2005, so more detailed information about the instrument can be found there.
