摘要

In this pilot project study we used digitized maps of Quaternary deposits and agricultural databases to estimate the distribution and land use of cultivated organic soils in the county of Uppland. The total area of cultivated land in the area was estimated to be 167 605 ha and 7.5 % of this area (12 583 ha) was classified as cultivated organic soils. With detailed information from the agricultural databases it was possible to estimate the cultivation intensity of the cultivated land. More than half of the cultivated peatland area was used for ley and pasture.
