Construction and design of deep excavations are challenging tasks for both geo-technical and structural engineers. The site-specific properties of the surrounding soils and structural system, and the complexity of the construction sequence make it impossible to develop close-form solutions. This is the main reason why numerical methods have gained acceptance as a tool for designing deep excavations. In this paper we compare how the application of three different models influences the results in case of different types of soil using the results of laboratory test.
