A Romanian experience concerning the successful promotion of a new constructive system for residential building is reported in this paper. Designed for buildability, a new fully-precast system composed of columns, flat slabs and a number of rarely distributed structural walls was proposed by the design team. To certificate the structural quality and the performances of this type of structure, an extensive program of theoretical analyses, of structural and technological tests has been carried out by universities, research and design institutes from Romania. The tests have shown a good behavior of the precast dual system (frame-wall) adapted for a classic flat slab structure. The well-engineered connections have indicated a similar behavior of the precast system to that of the monolithic solution. Due to its functional and technical advantages, its high productivity and low cost, the constructive system has been used in over 1200 flats, erected in Transylvania, Romania.
