摘要

The Critical Chain Scheduling (CCS) method, derived from the Theory of Constraints (TOC) to project management domain and being popular in the industry engineering domain, can make schedule planning and control more effective than traditional Critical Path Method (CPM). The purpose of this paper is to adopt the CCS method to construction scheduling. A simplified practical example is employed in demonstrating how CCS works and the differences between CCS and traditional CPM. The results of this study show that the CCS method could be useful for most of projects in the construction industry if all participants change their traditional behaviors in CPM.
