摘要

A first law analysis of heat balance for a reverberatory furnace is developed to optimize the performance of a reverberatory furnace, in which, all parameters and compounds that affect the process have been taken into account. The results of this analysis can be used to obtain technical and economical characteristics for sizing and rating of an energy efficient furnace. A sample calculation has been carried out for Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex Reverberatory furnace and the results are in good agreement with experimentally measured data. To facilitate the calculations and study the effect of varying parameters in the process, a computer software using Visual Basic has been developed.
