A multiagent based model system running on computers connected by the networks such as Internet or Intranet is composed with three kinds of agents, management agent, interface agent, model agent There are a management agent, a lot of interface agents and many model agents in a model system. The management agent is responsible for system management The interface agent is built for its user to interact with the model system. The model agent, developed by its owner, is the main component of the model system to perform modeling and computing. Every user can use his interface agent to call the model agent for accomplishing modeling tasks. In the agent based systems, some agents which can move from one place to another are called mobile agents. Generally, the movements of mobile agents are for the purposes of database access, network management, new design paradigm, etc. In this paper, we study the movements of agents in multiagent based model systems. We analyze the necessity and importance of movements of agents, including the movements of their duplicate copies. The movement of management agent is to improve the system reliability, and security. The movement of interface agent can provide better service for its user, and keep the user's data consistent. The movements of model agent can balance the load of modeling and speed computing to meet more and more users to call. The distributed structures of the model system will be evolved adaptively by the moving of agents. We present how to build the platform for the movements of agents. The general movement rules of the three kinds of agents are given. We also study the implementation technology of agent movements. At last, we will introduce a case: The movements of agents in the multiagent based forecasting model system.
