It was found that a cast Ti-Cu-Ni-Mo-Fe multicomponent alloy exhibited high strength and large elongation. The yield strength (σ_(0.2)) and plastic elongation of the Ti_(52)Cu_(23)Ni_(11)Fe_7Mo_7 cast alloy with a diameter of 3 mm are 1250 MPa and 22%, respectively, under a compressive stress. The main phase of this alloy is a TiNi compound phase with dendrite morphology. The large elongation of the Ti_(52)Cu_(23)Ni_(11)Fe_7Mo_7 cast alloy is attributed to the combined effect of the ductility of a TiNi phase and the large plastic deformation ability of grain-boundary.
