In the "knowledge economy" , knowledge has become the most valuable asset of organizations. Financial corporations and organizations must manage and leverage their knowledge resources to gain continuous competitive advantages. In this paper, we distinguished the difference between "individual knowledge" and "organizational knowledge". "Individual knowledge" is a kind of individual asset, which is acquired by individuals for their self-consumptions; while "organizational knowledge" is a kind of organizational asset, which is created by certain individuals of an organization as the outcome of knowledge-creating work and is disseminated to proper individuals by the organization. The sharing of individual knowledge is not a responsibility of employees'jobs, so it should be boosted rather than be managed. On the contrary, the creating and disseminating of organizational knowledge is a necessary part of knowledge-creating work, which should be embedded into corporations'routine operation and be managed systematically. We proposed a framework about the management of organizational knowledge for reference , which is called as " Operation-oriented knowledge management". It mainly includes: job redesign; knowledge type definition; knowledge subject classifying; knowledge working plat- form and administrative framework. Under the guidance of that framework, we helped a financial company carry out a KM ini- tiative and gave a case study on it in the end of the paper.
