Introduction Petroleum-based adhesive resins have widely used for the production of wood panels. However, due to the high production cost of the adhesive resins and environmental issues from the adhesive resins such as the emission of formaldehyde, it is required to develop a new adhesive system. In our study, the potential of okara, an organic waste obtained after the production of tofu, for the development of new bio-based adhesives was investigated.
