First of all, I would like to congratulate the organizers for holding the International Tire Exhibition & Conference for the first time in Asia. And I want to express my appreciation to the officials of Grain Communications who invited me here. ITEC still has a short history, being first established in 1994. However, its previous events have been so successful that ITEC is now recognized as one of the most prestigious conferences and exhibitions related to the tire industry. I feel highly especially honored to have the opportunity to deliver a speech before officials and tire specialists at this important event, since I was also honored to deliver a speech at the Tire Society in Akron, Ohio earlier this year. I would like to discuss the position that Asia holds in the tire industry, and in particular, that of Kumho Tires, Korea. Some of the attendees here may be unfamiliar with Asia, Korea and Kumho Tires. Even though Kumho Tires holds a mere 2% of the world' s market share, it might surprise you to know that it is ranked as 10th among the tire manufacturers in the world.
