This paper presents the results from on site corrosion measurements obtained during the inspection prior to repairing of four reinforced concrete structures exposed to different aggressive environments. For each case, after a general description of the structures, a presentation is made of the values obtained for corrosion potential and corrosion rate determined by measuring the polarisation resistance, using the GEOCOR 6, an equipment with a guard ring for current confinement. For a better interpretation, some results are also presented concerning the chloride content and carbonation depth in concrete and concrete cover depth. From the experience obtained it could be concluded that polarisation resistance is a very sensitive technique to measure corrosion rate in concrete. However it is yet difficult to establish universal ranges for quantification of corrosion rate, since the values depend very much of the humidity and chloride penetration in concrete or carbonation.
