Bio-coated and uncoated rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) with three different moisture contents (MC) were stored under three different temperature conditions. Germination tests were conducted in various storage periods. The results showed that uncoated seeds with 4.1% MC retained high germination percentage at all temperatures, but germination percentage of the seed with 8.6% MC fell slightly at both 25℃ and 35℃. The uncoated seeds with 11.1% MC deteriorated rapidly with germination percentage falling to 0% at 35℃. Bio-coated seeds deteriorated more slowly than the uncoated seeds in all storage conditions. Whilst germination of coated seeds did fall slightly in response to increased moisture content and storage temperature, all coated seeds retained a germination percentage above 75% after one year storage. The germination energy and germination index of bio-coated seeds were much greater than that of uncoated seeds.
