Abstract: Recent advances in aspheric technology have resulted in remarkable progress in the manufacture of compact zoom lenses for consumer use such as photographic cameras or video cameras. The aspheric technology consists of aspheric lens production technology and also aspheric lens design technology. The author discusses recent advances in the above technologies and typical examples of zoom lenses which are successfully commercialized as aspheric zoom solutions. !0
