Scanning transmission electron microscopy with scanningrnelectron microscopes (SEM-STEM) has become increasingrnused in both SEM and dual-beam focused ion beam (FIB)-SEMrnsystems. This paper describes modeling undertaken tornsimulate the contrast seen in such images. Such modelingrnprovides the ability to help understand and optimize imagingrnconditions and also support improved sample preparationrntechniques.
