Wheat root rot Bipolaris sorokiniana, one of the most serious diseaes, damages not only the wheat root but also the leaves and spikes, causing wheat rot rot during the seedling stage, leave spot and black embryo during the adult stage. Ma Qixiang and Zhang Junhua have studied the biological characteristics and the pathopoiesia capacity fo this germ. They found that on PSA substratum this germ could produce colony variation. But no systematic reports have been found yet about the germ's changes of growth properties and its pathopoiesia capacity after variation. We have studied al kinds of changes of colony after variation. The experiment rsults are reported as follows.
