Energy Flow Method (EFM) is implemented to model a passenger vehicle for middlefrequency vibration analysis. Energy Influence Coefficients (EIC) and Power InfluenceCoefficients (PIC) are derived in closed-form based on the modal solution of a Finite ElementAnalysis (FEA) model for each frequency band. The structure response of the system iscalculated by applying various load cases to the EFM model which consists of these EIC’sand PIC’s. The comparisons of structure responses between the EFM results and test resultsfor a body-in-white (BIW) structure and production vehicle are in good agreement.
