incorporating the results of species distributionrnmodelling and species distribution modelling may bernupgraded if a variable of the process-based variable ofrnforest cover change or accessibility of forest fromrnhuman settlement is included. This work presents thernresults of spatially explicit analyses of the changes inrnforest cover from 2000 to 2007 using the method ofrnGeographically Weighted Regression (GWR) and of thernspecies distribution for protected species of Lynx lynxrnmartinoi, Ursus arctos using Generalized LinearrnModels (GLMs). The methodological approach isrnseparately searching for a parsimonious model for forestrncover change and species distribution for the entirernterritory of Albania. The findings of this work showrnthat modelling of land change and of speciesrndistribution is indeed value-added by showing higherrnvalues of model selection of corrected AkaikernInformation Criterion. These results provide evidencesrnon the effects of process-based variables on speciesrndistribution modelling and on the performance ofrnspecies distribution modelling as well as show anrnexample of the incorporation of estimated probability ofrnspecies occurrences in a land change modelling.
