The microstructure and the strengthening behaviour of Al-Fe-alloys (AA 1050-8021) isrninfluenced by the alloy composition and the process parameter intermediate annealing.rnThe element Fe has a very pronounced and positive effect on strength and elongationrnbehaviour. With increasing Fe both mechanical values, tensile strength and elongation,rnincrease in the O-temper condition and the resulting grain size is very fine and uniform. Inrnaddition to the Fe-content the process parameter, intermediate annealing, is important forrnthe recovery behaviour, while through this process route thermal stability of the tensilernstrength is reduced.rnBy controlling all these procedures it is possible to produce a high strength foil with goodrnformability and a very fine grain structure.
