The paper reports on the use of physically based microstructure models to follow thernmicrostructural evolution and mechanical properties during industrial processing of arncommercial AlMn-alloy. The modelling approach involves models for the evolution inrnsubstructure and associated mechanical properties during deformation, and a softeningrnmodel capable of handling the complexity of partial recrystallization between passesrnduring multi-pass hot rolling and the combined effect of recovery and recrystallizationrnduring annealing. In combination with FE-models the microstructure models are able tornaccount for the complex strain paths and through thickness variations experienced duringrnindustrial processing conditions.
