摘要

Durability of concrete structures is a subject that in recent years has attracted much interest fromboth researchers and from practicing engineers. In this paper it is demonstrated how models for deterio-ration of concrete structures may be used to formulate a code for durability design. The code is developed within the LRFD framework. Within the research program "Probabilistic Performnace Based Durability Design of Cooncrete Structures" financed by the European union probabilistic models have been formulated for a number of destructive mechanisms. These models form the basis for hte development of the code for durability design. Here, the basic principles of the code calibration are illustrated thorugh an example concerning chloride ingress and corrosion of the reinforcement.
