摘要

An importance sampling simulation method for time-dependent system reliability analysis is developed and applied to a stochastic fatigue model, in which the Girsanov theorem is applied to determine an importance sampling measure on a function space. First, an importance sampling simulation scheme is mathematically formulate,d where Newton's method to determine the sampling measure is used. Next, the proposed simulation method is applied to a stochastic fatigue model in which the crack growth process is modeled as a Markov diffusion process. The numerical results show that the probability of fatigue failure can be effectively estiamted by the proposed method even if the probability is extremely small.
