New oxysulfide glasses involving Sb_2O_3 and MxS which have different features from classical oxide, glasses and pure chalcogenides glasses have been prepared. Glass forming regions have been shown in the Sb_2O_3-MxS binary systems and Sb_2O_3-M_(1x)S-M_(2x)S (M=K, Na, Zn) ternary systems. These glasses are easy to prepare and chemically stable. Depending on the composition, the glass transition temperature Tg is between 246~275°C, Tc is between 360~400°C. ΔT is between 90-140°C. The glasses are transparent ranging from about 0. 5 to 7.0μm. The σ(100~200°C) of the glasses is about 10~(-5)Ω~(-1)cm~(-1). The glasses are potential candidates for IR transparet glass around 0. 5~7μm.
