STUDY OF STANDARD TABLET FORMULATION BASED ON GRANULATION

Study for optimization of tablet formulation and its granulation method was commenced. As a first step of study, granules for standard fine granule formulation were prepared by using the fluidized bed(FB), the agitating fluidized bed(AGFB) and the agitating granulator(AG) and were compressed into tablets. Two granulation, FB and AGFB, resulted in tablets with adequate initial values of hardness and good reproduction. Granulation by AG showed no good compressibility. Several kind of tests were repeated and an acceptable preparation condition was selected as follow, (1) adding 3% percent of HPC-SL and 800g of water a batch (5 kg) in kneading, (2) size reduction after drying, (3) mixing 0.5% of Mg-stearate and 4% of microcrystalline cellulose prior to tabletting. But it's too early to draw a conclusion yet. Continuous study will be performed.
