摘要

It can be summarized from the literature that there are three shortage cost measures and three commonly-used service measures in inventory control. While there exists a consensus that service measures are utilized wen shortage costs are difficult to estiamte, little attention is paid to studying the relationships among these measures and great confusion exists among practitioners in understanding their differneces, or maybe similarities. In this paper, we investigate this relationship in a single-item, continuous reorder-point, order-quantity, inventory setting.
