We report NMR a nd NQR measurements of YBa_2Cu_4O_8 from 10K to 715K. We have studied Knight shifts, K~s, spin-lattice relaxation time, T_1, and Gaussian transverse relaxation time, T_(2G). We examine the results to explore concepts of the phase diagram of the cuprates, and on scaling, and using results on antiferromagnets. The work at high temperatures is done using an unoriented powder. We observe a maximum in the Knight shift with temperature near 500K. We also find two temperatures (200K and 500K approximately) which separate different regions of behavior, as predicted by Barzykin and Pines. Using the analysis of Sokol, Glenister, and Singh, we show that at the upper temperature the correlation length is approximately 2 lattice constants.
