摘要

We found a 326-type new cuprate, Nd_2CaCu_2O_6, under high pressure of 6 GPa. X-ray powder diffraction and HRTEM observations revealed that this compound crystallizes in tetragonal system with the space group, I4/mmm and lattice parameters, a chemical bounds 3.8262 (5) and c chemical bounds 19.027 (2) A. It is essentially isomorphous with La_2CaCu_2O_6, which has rock-salt-type blocks instead of fluorite-type ones as the charge reservoir layer. Carrier doping was tried by partial substitution of Sr for Nd in Nd_2CaCu_2O_6, and weak superconducting signal was observed at 18 K in a Nd_(1.6)Sr_(0.4)CaCu_2O_6 sample. The small superconducting volume fraction suggests that only a limited area becomes superconducting owing to a low hole concentration.
