Designing rules of low energy buildings were presented. The principles of the Buildings Code relating to the calculation of the heating energy demand were modified. The modification was based on taking into account the input heat exchange in the building as a function of time. Function of the temperature and the global solar radiation incident on exterior plane of building was presented as a trigonometric series in a function of the day. Heating energy demand in octagonal building was presented. Comparison of the heat energy consumption between three stages of heat utilisation in the building was made.
