1. Collaborative and distributive learning does seem to work for a range of clients and work-based qualifications. 2. Using LearningSpace appears to be an effective way of giving a better learning experience to students doing work-based qualifications in remote areas. 3. There is no reason why this methodology should not be used for other qualifications. 4. Tutors rather than IT experts should be trained for on-line des gn and delivery, thus expertise is kept in the area and does not have to be imported every time a change in course or a new course is developed. 5. New tutors can be brought on board by cascading the IT and pedagogic skills necessary. 6. Robust technical administration is a specialised task. In order to make this on-line learning opportunity available to a wide number of training providers, HIE has now out-sourced the hosting of the Domino server and the technical administration.
