Transparent conducting oxides (TCO 's) are an integral component in many optoelectronic devices, serving as transparent electrodes for photovoltaic devices, flat panel display, and smart windows. Additionally, with the development of p-type conducting oxides, more sophisticated devices such as transparent pn junctions and transistors based completely on oxides can be realized. Recently, delafossite ceramics have shown great promise for these applications as both n- and p-type conductors have been developed. Of all the delafossite compositions, AgInO_2 doped with Sn has the highest measured conductivity. In this work, AgInO_2 was prepared via a cation exchange technique. Key parameters that affect synthesis were determined and the results are presented and discussed. Additionally, electronic properties of bulk samples were measured and results are presented.
